Accounting Preferences
NetSuite has many accounting preferences that shape how the accounting management interface works in your account. You can set preferences at Setup > Accounting > Accounting Preferences if you have the Set Up Accounting permission. It's best to define these preferences when you first set up your account. You can change most of them anytime.
The accounting preferences you can set depend on the NetSuite product type and the features you've enabled in your account.
The following sections cover accounting preferences, grouped by the subtabs where they appear on the Accounting Preferences page.
Click More in the top right corner of this page, then select Audit Trail to review a list of changes to accounting preferences. You'll see who made the changes, when changes were made, and the preference values before and after. The list also shows preferences that were reset through scripting. For details, see Auditing Account Preferences. Changes to accounting preferences are recorded in system notes. For details, see Searching System Notes.
Invoicing, Inventory, and Finance Charge preferences are also available from other menu options at Setup > Accounting. For more, see Global Invoicing Preferences and Setting Up Advanced Inventory Management.
