Tax Setup Overview
The topics in this section cover the legacy tax solution in NetSuite. Check these help topics if you're using a NetSuite account without the SuiteTax feature.
SuiteTax provides more flexibility to support country-specific needs and changing tax laws for calculation and reporting. For more details about the differences between Legacy Tax and SuiteTax, see Differences between SuiteTax and Legacy Tax.
For most countries, the various elements used to track taxes are already included in your NetSuite account when it was provisioned to you, or automatically created when you add a nexus. However, you must define the various tax settings, by adding or editing details if necessary, to make sure that taxes are correctly calculated and tracked in the system.
