PDF/UA-1 Accessibility Support for Report Packages

Report Package Owners can now enable Publish in PDF/UA-1 Format when creating or editing a report package. When enabled, published PDFs include enhanced document structure and accessibility information to support assistive technologies, such as screen readers. This option is disabled by default.

Business Benefit: PDF/UA-1 support helps organizations create more accessible PDF report packages. However, enabling this option does not automatically ensure full PDF/UA-1 compliance. Report Package Owners and authors must ensure that their source content includes the required accessibility information, such as document titles, alternative text for images, charts, hyperlinks, and other objects. Narrative Reporting does not automatically generate missing accessibility information. The published PDF should be reviewed to verify accessibility and compliance.

Steps to enable and configure

When creating or editing a report package, navigate to Define Options and select Publish in PDF/UA-1 Format before publishing.
