Check-in Enhancements
Check-in templates provide these functionalities:
- Associate Touchpoints check-in documents with performance review periods.
- Add position, job, and talent profile competencies as discussion topics in the check-ins.
- Optionally, make Touchpoints check-in templates available to specific employees by specifying one or more eligibility profiles.
Associate Touchpoints Check-In Template with Review Period
You can associate a Touchpoints check-in template with specific review periods or all review periods. By default, check-in templates are associated with all review periods. The review periods chosen while creating the check-in template are available for the duration of the review period when scheduling a check-in. If all review periods are chosen, the template will be available for all review periods. If specific review periods are chosen, you can choose one or more review periods, and the template will be available only for the chosen review periods.
Associate Check-In Template with Review Period
Performance goals are populated based on the review period chosen while scheduling the check-ins. However, development goals aren't tied to any review periods.
Add Talent, Position, and Job Competencies as Discussion Topics
You can view and add job, position, and talent profile competencies as discussion topics, provided they’re selected when creating the check-in template. The competencies are picked from the career role or talent profile.
Choose Competencies in Check-In Content
The career role represents job or position profile required for the role or position the employee is in.
As a manager, you can add talent profile and career role competencies as discussion topics to ensure meaningful discussions with your team, identify growth opportunities, and ensure alignment with the team and organization’s goals. Employees can add talent profile and career role competencies as discussion topics to align check-in conversations with role-specific competencies.
Each competency is listed under a category, Career Role or Talent Profile. Target Level is displayed for Career Role competency and it is the minimum proficiency rating defined on the model profile. For the talent profile competency, the proficiency levels displayed are evaluated by the supervisor.
Select Competencies During Check-In Schedule
Specify Eligibility Profiles
You use eligibility profiles to associate a check-in template with a specific population based on the selected criteria specified when creating a check-in template.
Specify Eligibiltiy Profiles
These enhancements combine check-ins with performance review periods, allowing you to discuss the progress of performance and development goals throughout the year. This, in turn, improves the scope of interactions between a manager and the team when using check-ins.
