Process Automation Task Type No Longer Available in Journeys Setup
As announced earlier, from release 26D, we’re not letting users create new journey tasks and integrations using the Process Automation task type as Oracle Process Automation (OPA) reaches end of life.
Oracle announced the end-of-life of Process Automation for Fusion Applications on October 31, 2025. New instance provisioning was disabled with this announcement. The service will reach end-of-life on October 31, 2026. After this date, support for OPA integration in journeys will be discontinued.
These are some journey setup pages where the Process Automation task type won’t be available:
- New Task from Journey Template, Task Group, and Task Library
- Edit Task from Journey Template, Task Group, and Task Library
- Add Task from, and to Task Library
- New Process Automation Integration
- Task Type in Display Settings
Process Automation Task Not Displayed When Creating New Journey Task
You can edit an existing Process Automation task and change it to another task type. However, the Process Automation task type isn’t populated when you try to edit a non-Process Automation task.
Process Automation Task Not Displayed When Editing Journey Task
You can view and edit an existing Process Automation journey integration. For a new integration, Process Automation isn’t populated in the category list.
Process Automation Category Not Displayed When Creating New Journey Integration
Proactively evaluating and adopting alternate solutions ensures uninterrupted service and minimizes operational risk.

You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.
Tips and considerations
- You need to evaluate alternate solutions using existing HCM Journeys features, such as the External URL task type or other non-journey solutions to avoid any service interruption.
