Help Candidates Identify Job Application Gaps

Candidates can review the content of their job application before they submit it by clicking Review Application in the application flow. This opens the Generate Job Application Health Check Agent. While this agent isn't part of Career Coach, the conversation is displayed in the Career Coach window. This feature is available to all.

This agent:

  • Lets candidates request an application health check before submitting a job application.
  • Supports review in standard and express job application flows.
  • Compares the job description’s required and preferred qualifications and responsibilities with populated application sections, including education, work experience, licenses and certificates, languages, work preferences, and skills.
  • Points out gaps where qualifications from the job post, such as experience, responsibilities, skills, or certifications, aren't reflected in the candidate's application answers.
  • Gives conditional recommendations that remind candidates to add information only when it’s true and can be substantiated
  • Excludes sensitive personal information from the information passed.

Business benefit: This feature improves the candidate experience by giving candidates immediate, AI-assisted feedback on their application content before they submit. It helps candidates identify missing or improvable information across key application sections while staying in control of whether to update or submit their application.

Steps to enable and configure

No steps are required to enable this feature. The Review Application action is displayed in all apply flows when at least one of the education, experience, languages, licenses and certificates, skills, work preferences blocks are configured in the apply flow. 

Make sure to enable Career Coach for the career site. Career Coach is needed to show the response. For Career Coach setup, see Enable AI Agent for Career Sites. (MOS KB873870)

Tips and considerations

  • The application review is optional. Candidates can submit the application without requesting a review.
  • Candidates must be using a web-based standard or express job application flow on a career site where Career Coach is enabled.
  • The Review Application action can be triggered again after Career Coach returns a response.
  • Agent can point out missing or improvable application content, but it will not assess whether the candidate is qualified, provide fit feedback, or discourage the candidate from applying.
  • The health check uses only selected application draft content for comparison. Other block content is sanitized and isn't passed to the health check agent.
  • This feature isn't supported for talent community flows, event flows, or messaging channels.

Access requirements

The agents you can view depend on the roles and privileges assigned to you. To access the Career Coach agent, your role must be explicitly granted access to it by an AI Studio Administrator. See How can I give users access to AI agents and Access Requirements for AI Agent Studio.
