Redwood: Analyze Late Demands Using a New User Experience
In a constraint-based supply plan, orders can be late due to material and capacity constraints. With this update, a dedicated page in Redwood user experience is available to facilitate your understanding on why an order is scheduled late. It lets you identify the components, materials, resources, or lead times that prevent a demand from being fulfilled on time. You can also drill to other views to address the constraints.
With this update, you can use Redwood user experience to analyze late demands. The algorithm for identifying the root cause of lateness remains unchanged.
Opening the Late Demand Analysis table
You can either open a Redwood Late Demand Analysis table directly or you can drill into it from another table such as Supplies and Demands or Exceptions.
You can navigate to the Late Demand Analysis table from the following tables after selecting one or more late end demands or exceptions related to late demand fulfillment:
- Supplies and Demands
- Exceptions
- Build Plan
- Material Plan
You can drill from following exceptions to the Late Demand Analysis table:
- Late Replenishment for Sales Order
- Late Replenishment for Forecast
- Late Supply Pegged to Sales Order
- Late Supply Pegged to Forecast
- Demand at Risk Due to Insufficient Lead Time
Opening the Late Demand Analysis table directly
To open the table directly,
- Select a constrained supply plan from the plan selector.
- Click the ‘+’ sign to open Pages.
- Select the Visualizations tab.
- Search for the Late Demand Analysis table.
- Select the table to open it.

Opening the Late Demand Analysis table through Supplies and Demands table
To open the table through Supplies and Demands view,
- Create or open a page with Supplies and Demands table.
- Identify the demands that are satisfied late.
Open Supplies and Demands Table
- Select one or more late demands, and then drill to the Late Demand Analysis table.
Drill to Late Demand Analysis Table from Supplies and Demands
If the Late Demand Analysis table is part of the same page, then the context of the late demand is passed within the same page, and the focus shifts to the Late Demand Analysis table.
Supplies and Demands and Late Demand Analysis Tables on The Same Page
If the Late Demand Analysis table is not part of the same page, then it opens in a new temporary tab. The context of the late demand is passed to the new tab. The Late Demand Analysis table shows the constrained supply path of the late demand.

Late Demand Analysis Type
You can analyze a late demand using one of the two options:
- Identify the most constrained supply path (the path causing the maximum delay). Resolve the lateness and repeat the process.
- Identify all the potential supplies that can cause demand lateness.

Using Filters
You can analyze late demands based on different attributes using filters. For example, you can analyze the late forecasts of a finished good for a time-range of end demand due dates.
Use Search and Filters to analyze late demands
You can provide additional filters by clicking the Filters option.
Use More Filters to Analyze Late Demands
You can apply a filter to an individual column. Hover over the column header, click the filter icon and select the required criteria.
Filter Individual Columns
You can sort the data in any column by hovering over it and then clicking the sort icon.

Tips And Considerations
- This feature applies to constrained supply plans only.
- While querying the Late Demand Analysis table independently, limit the number of records by using various filter criteria.
- Review the constrained supply path for late demands and expedite lead times, resources, or material as appropriate to reduce the lateness. You can choose alternate resources or alternate ship methods to minimize the lateness.
