Copy Descriptive Flexfields (DFFs) from Requisition to Negotiation and Purchasing Documents

You can now pass the descriptive flexfield (DFF) values from requisition to a negotiation and finally to the purchasing documents.

DFF values are passed between documents as long as the DFF segments set up on the negotiation header and line match the DFF segments set up on the requisition header and line, and also match those set up on the purchasing document’s header and line.

Negotiation DFF entities supported:

• Name: Supplier Negotiation Headers
  • Description: Fields for capturing additional information on the supplier negotiation header. These are internal DFF values that aren't visible to the suppliers.
• Name: Supplier Negotiation Lines
  • Description: Fields for capturing additional information on the supplier negotiation line.

When DFF values from the requisition lines are copied to the negotiation, grouping of the requisition lines isn't supported.

Default Group Lines as No

Descriptive Flexfields are used to track additional information unique to your business. The automatic transfer of DFF values ensures internal business information flows through the source to pay process.

Steps to Enable

In the Setup and Maintenance work area, go to the Manage Administrator Profile Values task. You must enable these profile options to copy the DFF values:

• Profile Option Code: ORA_PON_COPY_REQ_HDR_TO_NEG_HDR

Name: Copy Requisition Header Descriptive Flexfields to Negotiation Header

Description: Enable descriptive flexfields to be copied from a requisition header to the negotiation header.

Values: Yes, No

• Profile Option Code: ORA_PON_COPY_REQ_LINE_TO_NEG_LINE

Name: Copy Requisition Line Descriptive Flexfields to Negotiation Line

Description: Enable descriptive flexfields to be copied from a requisition line to the negotiation line.

Values: Yes, No

• Enable these profile options (introduced in update 24C) to copy the negotiation award DFFs to the purchasing documents:
  • ORA_PON_COPY_NEG_HDR_DFF_TO_PO_HDR
  • ORA_PON_COPY_NEG_LINE_DFF_TO_PO_LINE
  • ORA_PON_COPY_NEG_HDR_DFF_TO_BPA_HDR
  • ORA_PON_COPY_NEG_LINE_DFF_TO_BPA_LINE
  • ORA_PON_COPY_NEG_HDR_DFF_TO_CPA_HDR
