Report Flow Schedule Completions Using Connected Equipment at Workstations
Use connected equipment at a production line workstation to automatically report flow schedule completions. Using equipment signals to complete line operations reduces manual entries, ensures reporting accuracy, and provides real-time visibility into throughput and equipment performance.
Enables real-time exchange of execution events between flow manufacturing equipment and Fusion Cloud Manufacturing, improving visibility and traceability of continuous production.
Steps to enable and configure
You need to provision and configure the SCM Core Service- Smart Operations service on your instance before you can capture and evaluate events from connected assets in Maintenance and connected equipment in Manufacturing.
To enable this service, you need to log a Service Request (SR). For Manufacturing, use the following SR details:
- Select Product Module - Oracle Fusion Manufacturing Cloud Service.
- Select Category - Work Execution.
- Select Subcategory - Manage Work Orders.
- Select Component: Installation Issue (INSTALL).
- Copy and paste this text into description area of the SR: Enable the SCM Core Service-Smart Operations.
Refer to Set Up Connected Assets and Equipment for detailed setup instructions.
Tips and considerations
- If a signal received from an equipment cannot be processed, the reason for the failure to process can be viewed using the "Operational Data" task in the Work Execution work area.
- Equipment instances capable of communicating through industrial communication protocols can send the following signals to Fusion Manufacturing Cloud for automated reporting in Flow Manufacturing:
- Flow schedule completion and inspection
- Enable a workstation for automated execution of work order operations by setting the "Enable for automated execution of operations" flag for the workstation.
