Group transfer orders by source and destination organization when routing through Order Management

Organizations frequently create a single supply request for multiple items required by a destination organization. Based on inventory availability, fulfillment strategies, or sourcing rules, those items may be fulfilled from different source organizations. When all fulfillment lines are combined into a single transfer order despite having different source organizations and the transfer order is routed through Oracle Fusion Cloud Order Management, it can obscure fulfillment ownership, reduce visibility into the movement of goods, and complicate downstream orchestration and change management. Now when routing transfer orders through Oracle Order Management, each unique source and destination organization combination will automatically create a separate transfer order.

Key Workflows:

  • Create a destination organization supply request with multiple item lines
  • Determine the source organization for each supply request line
  • Identify request lines routed through Oracle Fusion Cloud Order Management
  • Group routed request lines by unique source and destination organization combination
  • Create one transfer order for each source and destination organization group
  • Send each transfer order to Order Management for fulfillment orchestration

Creating separate transfer orders for each unique source and destination organization combination provides clearer ownership, improves order traceability, simplifies orchestration through Oracle Order Management, and enables more efficient execution of interorganization transfers.
