Viewing and Previewing Document Content

This page is accessed via:

This page displays the content of a document or a document revision. Depending upon the action or icon used, the content displayed may differ.

The Document Manager allows HTML documents to be uploaded. With the FORCE HTML DOCUMENT DOWNLOAD optional feature, any HTML document that already exists or is newly uploaded in the Document Manager will now require the file to be downloaded locally and then opened by the user instead of having the HTML rendered within the browser window itself. The system now forces the HTML document(s) to be downloaded in order to be viewed.

Note: Oracle Transportation Management's ability to display the content depends on the software installed on your browser's machine.

Viewing Content:

If you are viewing content or a document revision, the displayed document contains previously generated data that is stored in the system. If you are Viewing a Document and there are multiple revisions for the document you are viewing, you will first be prompted to select the revision you want to view.

Previewing Content:

Previewing content will generate a new version of the document content based on the latest system data. This preview is not saved and will not overwrite the version of the document that may be seen by the Viewing Content action.

The View Icon:

The View (View icon) icon appears on the Shipment Document tab and the GTM Trade Item: Document tab. Clicking this icon displays the latest content for a standard document.

  • If the document is an attachment, the latest revision is displayed as if you viewed the document.
  • If the document is report-based and there are generated revisions of the document stored in the system, the latest revision of the document is displayed, as if you viewed the document.
  • If the document is report-based but there are NO generated revisions of the document, a preview of the document is displayed.
  • Additional documents cannot be previewed and are always viewed.
