Quote Identification

The Quote Manager allows customer service representatives to supply their customers with transportation quotes. When a customer requests a quote, the customer service representative can lookup quotes based on specific criteria, edit the shipping costs, save the quote, and process it.

The Identification tab of the Quote Manager is where you identify the quote, create and update important dates associated with the quote, and assign reference numbers to it. This page is accessed via Brokerage and Forwarding > Quote.

  1. The Quote ID uniquely identifies a quote. You can enter an ID of your choice or generate it from a predefined formula that you can configure. If you leave this field blank, Oracle Transportation Management automatically assigns a default ID once the quote is finished.
  2. The Request Date is the date that you received the request for the quote from the customer. If you leave this field blank, it defaults to the date that the quote is created.
  3. The Issue Date is the date the quote was sent to the customer.
  4. The Expiration Date identifies the last day the quote is valid.

Involved Parties

  1. The Bill-To Party is a Contact ID that includes the contact and address information for the party that should be billed if the quote is converted to an order.
  2. The Shipper field displays the shipper involved party.
  3. The Consignee is the person or carrier to which a shipment of materials is entrusted.
  4. The Quote Requester is the involved party that is requesting the quote.
