Using Bulk Plan Diagnostics

The BULK PLAN DIAGNOSTICS agent simplifies one of the most complex processes in transportation planning: analyzing bulk plan failures. Traditionally, identifying why a bulk plan failed requires deep technical knowledge of planning logic, careful review of lengthy diagnostic logs, and the ability to interpret subtle or “soft” failures that are easy to miss. In many cases, this level of analysis depends heavily on years of hands-on experience.

With a simple instruction and a diagnostic log file ID, you can quickly receive a concise summary of the bulk plan along with the key reasons for failure, within a significantly shorter time frame than manual analysis.

It is ideal for planners, analysts, and support teams who need rapid clarity on what went wrong and how to address it. In addition to identifying failure reasons, the agent also provides multi-stop cost-saving matrix and recommendations for failure or optimize bulk plan.

Note: For each new message, you must include the Diagnostic Log File ID as the the agent is not context aware.

This agent can explain every step and decision in your OTM bulk planning process. If there’s a failure, it can highlight the cause and recommend ways to improve your results.

  • Can you walk me through the steps of my recent OTM bulk plan with the Diagnostic Log File of <DOMAIN NAME>.<BULK PLAN ID_XXXXX>?
  • Why did my bulk plan with the Diagnostic Log File of <DOMAIN NAME>.<BULK PLAN ID_XXXXX> fail?
  • What decisions were made during the bulk planning process, and why? Use the Diagnostic Log File of <DOMAIN NAME>.<BULK PLAN ID_XXXXX>.
  • How can I improve the performance of my bulk plan with the Diagnostic Log File of <DOMAIN NAME>.<BULK PLAN ID_XXXXX>?
  • Are there any recommended configuration changes for better planning results for the bulk plan with the Diagnostic Log File of <DOMAIN NAME>.<BULK PLAN ID_XXXXX>?

Using the BULK PLAN DIAGNOSTICS agent

  1. Go to Operational Planning > Planning Results > Shipment Planning.
  2. Select your bulk plan. The bulk plan must be recent and still have log files.
  3. To determine the Diagnostic Log File ID, view the bulk plan results.
  4. Click View Diagnostics.
  5. Copy the Diagnostic Log File ID.
  6. In the Global Header, click the  (AI Chat) icon.
  7. Select an agent of BULK PLAN DIAGNOSTIC - OPEN ENDED.
  8. In the Ask Oracle text box, enter a question containing the diagnostic log file. For example, "Using the diagnostic log ID of <DOMAIN NAME.<BULK PLAN ID_XXXXX>, why did the order movements fail to plan?"

Using Rate Inquiry

Instead of identifying all available options at the Ask Oracle Rate Inquiry screen to get the rates and routing options, you can request rate and route options by specifying the source, destination, item details, and preferences. Write your requests as if you were speaking to a human.

The RATE INQUIRY agent consolidates all viable rate and routing options into a single, clear response, presenting key details in an easy-to-compare format. This enables you to quickly evaluate choices, whether prioritizing cost, speed, or other criteria, without repetitive navigation or manual cross-checking.

Your Ask Oracle question must include following required information:

  • number of packaged items (GID, XID or name),
  • item (GID, XID or name),
  • source location (GID, XID or name), and
  • destination location (GID, XID or name).

Optionally, you can include total weight and total volume for more accurate results.

You can ask for all available options, the fastest transit, or the lowest cost shipping solutions.

Using the RATE INQUIRY agent

  1. In the Global Header, click the  (AI Chat) icon.
  2. Select an agent of RATE INQUIRY.
  3. In the Ask Oracle text box, enter a question pertaining to rates. For example, "How do I ship 10,000 battery from Kennedy Airport to Maywood_CA, with a per ship unit weight of 1.5 lb?"

Note: For each new message, you must include the required information listed above as the agent is not context aware.
