Connect to other sources when needed
Your Lakehouse data should be the natural starting point. If the application also requires supported data outside the Lakehouse, you can create Essbase connections and Datasources for those sources.
Keep external connections focused on data that the application actually requires. You do not need a separate connection merely to work with data already available to Essbase in the Lakehouse.
To learn about setting up connections and Datasources, refer to: Work with Connections and Datasources.
To learn about loading data and dimensions, refer to: Overview of Data Load and Dimension Build (skip the JDBC driver section, as uploading generic JDBC drivers is not supported for Essbase on Autonomous AI Lakehouse).
Note:
To load data or dimensions from files, use DBMS-formatted sources for best efficiency. For more information, see Data Load Options for Federated Cubes.
