Manage Access to Applications and Data
Control who can use Essbase applications, what operations they can perform, and what business data they can access.
Use the principle of least privilege: grant users, groups, and connected clients (for example, Smart View) only the access required for their work.
- Assign access according to responsibility
Different Essbase users require different capabilities. - Restrict access to business data
Access to an Essbase application does not necessarily mean access to every value in its cube. - Limit access from connected clients
Essbase can be accessed through clients and integrations, including: Smart View, MaxL, REST API, and AI clients connected through the Essbase MCP server. - Apply least privilege
