The Big Picture of Initiatives, Leads, and Representatives

Three objects are at the heart of the program management functionality: Initiatives, Leads, and Representatives.

  • An initiative defines a structured campaign that outlines the efforts to encourage customers to participate in a program targeted at a specific market segment.
  • A lead is an instance of an initiative for targeted customers.
  • There are two types of Representatives:
    • A Sales Representative is a user or group of users who can be assigned to follow up or manage leads. This representative is also responsible to sell or encourage the customer to participate in a program.

    • A Third Party Representative is a third party (typically external) who can receive assignments to perform specific tasks within a lead; such as, undertaking a visit to a property to perform an inspection, and installation work)

The topics in this section provide background information about these objects.
