The Big Picture of Third Party Representatives

A third party representative is similar to a sales representative except that they are typically not internal employees and they have a different set of responsibilities.

Lead-related tasks may be outsourced to a third party representative who is better equipped to perform the work. These tasks may include pre-installation visits, energy audits, equipment installation, and equipment recycling. An initiative’s lead event type profile defines whether or not lead-related work is sent to a third party representative.

Work is typically sent to a third party representative when a customer signs up for an initiative. The base product provides an online Sign Up action on active leads. This action creates a Third Party Lead Event that triggers the third party notification.

The third party representative is also responsible for providing updates to the system about the assigned leads. These updates can include event status updates, updates to important date/time information (e.g., completion date/time) and comments. This feedback enables users of the system to monitor the progress of leads and provide any necessary customer service.
