Work Activity Workflow

Work order activities are associated with a work order and are the tasks and resources required for completing the work. The following is the typical workflow states of a work activity:

Planning

This is the initial status of the work activity which includes all the resource and cost information needed to complete the type of work being planned for and to appropriately charge cost centers for resources and materials. Activities in this status can move between work orders.

Pending Approval

This status indicates that the planning of the work activity is finished and ready to be submitted to an approver.

Approved

This status indicates that the approver has reviewed work activity details and has approved the tasks to be done.

Active

This status sets the work activity to active so the work can be performed and the activity can accept charges.

In Progress

This status indicates the work activity has been started by the crew but the work is not yet finished

Finished

This status indicates the crew has finished the work

Execute Completion Events

This status indicates the work is finished and the completion events are being executed.

Completion Error

This status indicates there was an error in processing the completion events.

Completed

The activity is set to the Completed state once the work is performed and completion information is recorded

Canceled

This status is used to indicate that the task should not be performed

Rejected

This status indicates that the work activity was not approved but rejected by the approver.

The following statuses are only applicable to “outbound” activities:

Sent

This status indicates that the activity has been sent to an external system for scheduling and processing, for example, Oracle Field Service (OFS).

Resend

This status indicates an error was corrected and resent to the server.

Send Error

This status indicates that the activity does not have all the necessary details to enable it to be properly scheduled in an external system.
