GIS Owns Non-Tracked Assets

Non-tracked assets may be loaded into the system from the GIS system and synchronized on an ongoing basis. A GIS feature defined in the GIS system is synchronized into the system as an Asset Location and an Asset installed at that location. GIS feature details that describe the location are mapped to the Asset Location entity while others that are more asset related are mapped to the Asset entity.

Note: Please note that, in case of tracked assets, only asset locations are synchronized into the system from the GIS system.
Only features of specific classes configured as eligible for synchronization are considered. Each feature class that is eligible for synchronization needs to be defined in the GIS to WAM Sync Mapping extendable lookup. This definition controls the following:
  • Exclusion of features that belong to the eligible feature class based on a specific GIS field name and value combination.

  • Determining the asset location type and asset type to use for each synchronized feature based on specific GIS field name and value combinations.

  • Mapping of location related feature details to corresponding elements on the asset location entity.

  • Mapping of asset related feature details to corresponding elements and attributes on the asset entity.
