Creating a Digital Asset Configuration
Introduction
Creating a Digital Asset configuration involves a base configuration that includes Versions, Details and Attributes. A Digital Asset configuration can be associated to User Defined Data Structures, which enables you to associate Rule to Version and configure Attribute under Detail. A single Digital Asset configuration must contain at least one Version or it may have more Versions with different active dates. Contextualize Rule must be associated to a Version if it has more than one Detail. Rule helps to select the appropriate Detail based on the business requirements. You cannot reuse the Rule that is created in the context of a specific Digital Asset configuration.
Detail acts as a container to store the related digital files with the selected Asset Type. Detail may contain one or more Attributes. Within Attributes, you can associate User Defined Data Field that are common across all the associated User Defined Data Structures. User Defined Data Field value acts as a metadata for the asset.
For example, your financial institution needs to send out monthly account statements to individual and joint account holders located in Austin (County), Texas (State), United States (Country). These statements are stored in separate Digital Asset Detail configurations, each containing multiple Attributes, associated to respective User Defined Data Fields such as Country, State, and County. You can define Rules on the Digital Asset Version to filter and store the files in the relevant Detail. This ensures that the correct files are included in the Detail for further retrieval.
Prerequisites
Following are the prerequisites to consider before creating a Digital Asset.
Note:
Ensure that you complete the prerequisite before proceeding.| Prerequisites | Details |
|---|---|
| Set the Config ID | Config ID must be Active.
Ensure all dependent configurations and associations are part of the same open Config ID. See Creating a Config ID. |
| Configure entitlements | Ensure that you have the required entitlements to create a Digital Asset.
|
| Create Digital Asset Category | Ensure that you have created Digital Asset Category that needs to be associated to Digital Asset configuration. |
| Create User Defined Data Structure | Ensure that you have created User Defined Data Structure that needs to be associated to Digital Asset configuration. This is optional.
See Creating a Structure. |
| Create Rule Category | Ensure you have created the required Rule Category to associate while creating the Rule. This Rule will then be associated to the Digital Asset configuration. |
Creating a Digital Asset Configuration
- Access the Oracle Financial Services Cloud application.
- From Menu, select Configuration.
- Under Configuration, select Digital Asset, and then select Digital Asset.
- On the Digital Asset landing page, select Create.
- In Basic Information section, enter the Name, Long Name and Description (optional), to identify the Digital Asset configuration.
- In Transaction Type section, select Digital Asset Transaction Type to identify the type of transaction.
- In Digital Asset Category section, select Add Digital Asset Category and then select the Digital Asset Category that you want to associate to the Digital Asset configuration. You can associate only one Digital Asset Category to a Digital Asset configuration.
- In Status section, Active Date is set to the current date when the Digital Asset configuration is created. You can modify it to a future date, if required.
- Select Continue to configure Version, Detail and Attribute of the Digital Asset configuration.
Note:
To associate User Defined Data Structure to the Digital Asset configuration, you need to configure at least one Digital Asset Version.
Creating Digital Asset Version, Detail and Attribute
You must create at least one Version or can create multiple Versions, Details, and Attributes (optional). You can create an Attribute and Rule only if at least one User Defined Data Structure is associated to Version.
Creating Digital Asset Version
- On Create Digital Asset page, under Basic Information section, enter the Name, Long Name and Description (optional), to identify the Digital Asset Version.
- In Status section, Active Date is set to the current date when the Digital Asset Version is created. You can modify it to a future date or can be left bank to set the date later.
- Select Save to save the details, or select Save & Continue to save the details and continue to the next steps.
Note:
You can create a Rule for Digital Asset Version only if you have associated Digital Asset configuration to at least one User Defined Data Structure.
Creating Digital Asset Detail
To create Digital Asset Detail, follow these steps:
- On Create Digital Asset Detail page, under Basic Information section, enter the Name, Long Name and Description (optional), to identify the Digital Asset Detail.
- In Asset Type, select a value from the Digital Asset File Type drop-down to specify the format of the asset that can be stored and managed.
- In Status section, Active Date is set to the current date when the Digital Asset Detail is created. You can modify it to a future date.
- Select Save to save the details, or select Save & Continue to save the details and continue to the next steps.
Note:
Creating Digital Asset Attribute is optional. To create a Digital Asset Attribute, it is required that you complete the following associations. You can complete these associations later as well.- Associating Digital Asset configuration to User Defined Data Structure. This is required if you want to associate Version to Rule and to configure Attribute under Detail.
- Create a Rule for Digital Asset Version
Creating Digital Asset Attribute
To create Digital Asset Attribute, follow these steps:
- On Create Digital Asset Attribute page, by default Required toggle button is enabled. Required indicates whether the information about the User Defined Data Field associated to the Attribute should be included in the request to store the Digital Asset or not. You can enable or disable the Required toggle button.
- In User Defined Data Field section, select Add User Defined Data Field and then select the User Defined Data Field that you want to associate to the Digital Asset Attribute. You can add only one User Defined Data Field to a Digital Asset Attribute.
Note:
The User Defined Data Field list available for association depends on the User Defined Data Structures that you have associated to the Digital Asset configuration. Only the common User Defined Data Field list present across all User Defined Data Structures will be available for selection. - In Basic Information section, enter the Name, Long Name and Description (optional), to identify the Digital Asset Attribute.
- In Status section, Active Date is set to the current date when the Digital Asset Attribute is created. You can modify it to a future date.
- Select Save to save the details, or select Save & Exit to save the details and return to the landing page.
Associating Digital Asset Configuration to User Defined Data Structure
You can associate a Digital Asset configuration with one or more User Defined Data Structures. This is optional.
Note:
You can associate a Digital Asset configuration to User Defined Data Structures only if you have created at least one Digital Asset Version. To associate Digital Asset configuration to User Defined Data Structure, follow these steps:
- From the left navigation, select the Digital Asset configuration that you have already created.
- In Update Digital Asset page, under Associations, select Add next to User Defined Data Structure.
- Select the User Defined Data Structure that you want to associate. You can select multiple User Defined Data Structures. Return to the Update Digital Asset Category page.
- Select Save to save the details.
Create a Rule for Digital Asset Version
To create a Rule, you need to associate Digital Asset configuration to User Defined Data Structure. This helps the Rule Statement within the associated Rule to use User Defined Data Fields from associated User Defined Data Structure. Creating a Rule ensures that it points to the correct Digital Asset Details, so that the required file can be stored or retrieved as needed by the source system. See Understanding a Rule for more information on Rule.
To create a Rule, follow these steps:
- From the left navigation, select the Digital Asset Version that you have already created.
- On Update Digital Asset Version page, under Associations, select Add next to Contextualize Rule.
- Enter the required information to create a Rule. See Creating A Rule for more information.
Note:
The Rule Type is defaulted to Digital Asset. - Select Save to save the details.
