Assign a caregiver

When a participant has a caregiver, the caregiver or the participant can provide daily updates. All participants who are under 18 should have caregivers, even if the participants provide their daily updates themselves.

You can assign a caregiver when you add a participant or at any time afterward. The following procedure describes how to add a caregiver to a participant you already added. (For details on adding new participants, see Add multiple participants.)

To assign a caregiver to an existing participant:

1. Along the top, select the Participants tab.
2. In the list of participants, locate the participant who requires a caregiver.

   Tip:

   You can find the participant by typing their name, external identifier, or email address in the filter above the list of participants.
3. Select the participant's name.
4. Below the participant's name, in the row of buttons, select Add Caregiver.
5. Complete the following fields:
   • External Identifier for existing participant: If the caregiver is already a participant in Oracle COVID-19 Patient Monitoring System, enter their external identifier from the system.
   • Email: Enter the caregiver's email address.
   • Mobile: Enter the caregiver's mobile telephone number.
6. Click Next.
   If any information that you entered matches one or more participants, they are listed in a table.
7. Perform one of the following steps:
   • If the caregiver appears in the table, select Select in the left column for the individual.
   • If no table appears, or a table appears without listing the caregiver, select Add New Caregiver.
8. Update or complete the following fields:
   • First Name and Last Name: Update the person's name, if needed.
   • Responsible Party for Participant: Choose Self if the participant receives all messages and completes their own daily updates. Choose Caregiver if the caregiver receives all messages and completes daily updates on behalf of the participant.
9. Select Add Caregiver.

The caregiver is now associated with the participant and receives all messages going forward. When the caregiver selects the link in the request to complete a daily update, the caregiver must provide one-time information so that the system can verify the information. Afterward, the caregiver can complete the daily update.
