Update participant personal information

You can change a participant's personal information, including their name, email address, and whether they were diagnosed with or hospitalized for COVID-19.

Note:

A participant can update their email address, mobile number, mailing address, and preferred contact method from the Thank You page that appears after they complete their daily update.
To update participant account data:
  1. Along the top, select the Participants tab.
  2. In the list of participants, locate the participant with the information you need to update. You can find the participant by typing their name, external identifier, or email address in the filter above the list of participants.
  3. Select the participant's name.
  4. Above the participant's name and to the right, select Edit Participant.
  5. Update the participant's personal information. For example, you can change the name, external identifier, medical record number, date of birth, language, sex at birth, healthcare worker status, race, ethnicity, or contact information.

    Note:

    If you change the participant's contact information, the system immediately sends a message over email, text, or both, depending on the participant's preferences. For example, if the participant receives emails and texts and you change the participant's email address, the system sends an email about the update to the original email address and a text to the telephone number (if the number belongs to a smart phone). The message contains information about the change. The email contains the steps to take if the change was made in error.
  6. Select Save Participant.
