Manage Action Types page
The Topic Workflow Configuration administrator creates action types and makes them visible to work teams. On the Manage Action Types page, you can add, modify, and delete the action types shown in the table.
General activities
The following options are available from the Header Row Action menu (), and affect the table:
- Columns allows you to select the columns and sort order for the Manage Action Types page.
- Download sends the Manage Action Types table to your PC in the format you specify.
- Add Action Type adds another action type to the topic workflow configuration.
- Back returns you to the Edit Topic Workflow Configuration page.
Row-specific activities
The following options are available from the Row Action menus (), and affect an individual row in the table:
- View to display the Action Type General Information and History of Action Type General Information.
- Edit to change the action type's Action Type General Information and format of the History of Action Type General Information section.
- Copy to duplicate an action type, including the general information about the selected action type, thereby creating a new action type.
- Delete to delete action types other than the Generic action type and that have never been used by used by a topic action or topic template action.
- Deactivate or Activate any action type, including the Generic action type. You must activate action types to apply them to your topics or topic templates. If you deactivate an action type, it is no longer available for selection for new templates and actions.

Name of the action type. |

Color |
Optionally, assign a color to the action type to identify the action type associated with a topic or topic template at a glance. |
Active |
Status of the action type. Yes means it has been activated. No means the action type has not been activated or has been deactivated. |
Activate on topic states |
Use this field to identify topic states that will cause an action of this type to be activated; for example, move from the planned state to the initial state. Use the All states option to indicate that all topic states should activate actions with this action type or use the Selected states option to identify specific topic states. |
Start date |
Offset value. When the action moves to the initial state, the value is calculated from the current date plus the offset days. |
Created By |
User who created the action type. |
Created |
Date and time the action type was created. |
Modified By |
User who modified the action type. |
Modified |
Date and time the action type was modified. |

ID |
Identifier that was assigned automatically when the action type was created. Each action type ID is unique and is not re-used if the action type is deleted. |
Work teams |
Work teams whose members can use the action type. |
Action description |
Default value to be used for the action's description. |
Action name |
Default value to be used for the action's name. |
Actual completion date |
Offset value, when action move to initial state actual date will be calculated and used as the default value. |
Assigned to |
Default value to be used for the action's assigned to field. |
Planned completion date |
Offset value, when action move to initial state actual date will be calculated and used as the default value. |
Additional columns may be available depending on you topic workflow configuration.
