Arrive (Check In) to a Visit

The arrival (check-in) process allows you to complete any remaining forms and lets your care team know that you have arrived.

Note:

This process might be called check-in, arrival, I'm Here, or a similar name, depending on your healthcare organization and settings. Visits might be called appointments or encounters.

Depending on your organization and account settings, you might receive an email or text message alert to remind you when it is time to arrive (check in). If the get ready (preregistration) process is not yet completed, the notification might indicate that your details are still missing.

Appointment cards on the Today Today dashboard include a Confirm Arrival or I'm Here or similarly name button (depending on the type of account) that you can select after you have arrived to your appointment. The steps in this process might be available to you up to 30 minutes in advance, depending on your organization.

Note:

The arrival (check-in) process is available only during the time period set by your organization, such as 30 minutes before an appointment starts until 15 minutes after it starts. For example, if an appointment is scheduled for 12:30 p.m., the arrival window might be 12:00 p.m. to 12:45 p.m. This time frame is not adjustable
  • You cannot complete the arrival process earlier than this time frame.
  • Do not start the arrival steps until you are physically present at the office (excluding video visits).
  • If you arrive later than the appointment time allows, your appointment might be marked as Missed.
  • If you were unable to complete any preregistration details before the arrival period starts, you must complete them during the arrival process.
  • You might be unable to skip steps if you are preregistering as part of the arrival process.
When you are physically present at the office, complete the arrival (check-in) steps:
  1. From the reminder email or the Today dashboard Today Confirm Arrival (or I'm Here similarly named button). The Confirm Arrival (or similarly named) page is displayed.

    Note:

If the card says Get Ready (or similarly named button) instead, you are not yet within your check-in window. You can still complete your forms and details by selecting the button to get ready.
  2. On the Confirm Arrival (or similarly named) page, select Sign if you have any forms that you need to complete before your appointment.
    1. Select Sign Consent Forms to view and add your signature to each form as needed.
    2. Select Finish when you are done signing each form.
  3. Review your personal details, ID, insurance, responsible party, and emergency contacts, and select Edit Edit to edit these details as needed.
  4. Optionally, select the Appointment Details tab to review your appointment details.
  5. When you are ready, select Confirm Arrival (or similarly named button). The clinic is sent notice that you have arrived.
