Cancel a Visit in Patient Portal

Depending on your healthcare organization and account settings, you might be able to directly cancel an upcoming (but not yet completed) scheduled visit.

Note:

You cannot cancel visits that are too close to the appointment time as set by the organization, for example, if you are within 48 hours of the appointment time. If you are unable to cancel a visit online, call the office. Contact details are provided in the visit details.
To cancel an upcoming visit:
  1. If you manage multiple connected health profiles, optionally switch to a different health profile.
  2. From the navigation menu, select Visits. By default, the Upcoming tab is displayed.
  3. Optionally, select the Past tab to see past visits.
  4. Select the visit.
    If you have the ability to cancel this visit, a Cancel button is displayed. (You may need to scroll down or select a More Actions (…) button to see this option.)
  5. Select Cancel.

    Note:

    If the visit can no longer be canceled online, a message is displayed. You will need to call the provider's office to cancel the visit.
    If you are able to successfully cancel the visit, it is moved to the Past tab and displays a red badge labeled Canceled.
  6. If you previously added the visit to your personal calendar, remember to manually remove it. (See your calendar software for information about how to delete events.)
To reschedule a canceled visit, select the Reschedule button next to the canceled visit details.
