About Commission Management

Use Commissions Management to process reservation commission payments to travel agents and other booking sources in the currency and payment method specified in the Commission Bank Account selected in the profile commission details. Commission payments can be made by check or EFT export according to the export file format selected in the EFT Export Type OPERA Control; the export then sent to a clearing house for processing. Commission codes determine the amount of commission to be paid (example; as a percentage of revenue or a flat amount), and can be selected in travel agent and source profiles commission details or can be selected in rate codes financial details, to override the commission selected in the agent / source profile.

Commission to be paid can be adjusted or placed on hold to stop payment when additional checks are needed prior to approving payment. For commissions that are expected to be withheld from an AR Invoice remittance by an agent, you can identify a commission as 'Paid in AR' to prevent the reservation commission from being included in check or EFT payment. You can choose to include reservations with a zero amount in processing when the Send Zero Commission Records to Payment Processing OPERA Control is active and include No Show and Cancelled reservations when the Transfer No Shows and Cancels OPERA Control is active.

The Default Transaction Code for Prepaid Customers OPERA Control identifies the payment transaction code used to post pre-paid commission payment as part of a (nett) reservation deposit payment; OPERA Cloud then identifies the reservation commission as pre-paid.

Once commission payments have been processed, you can track and manage outstanding, cleared and unpresented commission checks and reprint or void as necessary.
