Add Service Definitions to Products

Overview

Use the Add Service Definitions to Products page to add the same service definitions to multiple products in one operation.

To add product service definitions to multiple products using this page, users must have Retrieve and Create access to function PR0040. See Access Restrictions for Jet Pages.

To add service definitions to products:

  1. Select the products.

  2. Add and configure the service definitions.

  3. Apply the changes.

You can select all products that match your search criteria or select specific products from the search results.

Open the Page

Open the Add Service Definitions to Products page in one of the following ways:

  • From the navigation menu, select Products > Add Service Definitions to Products.

  • On the Product Service Definitions across Products page, select Add Service Definitions to Products.

Both methods open the same page.

Select Products

  1. Select Add/Modify Product Selection.

  2. In the Add/Modify Product Selection drawer, search for the products that you want to update.

  3. Select Select All or Select Specific.

  4. Select Continue.

The drawer closes, and the Selected Products tile shows the number of selected products.

Continue is available after you select at least one product.

To close the drawer without changing the current product selection, select Cancel.

Filter the Product List

Use the prefilter, quick search, or advanced search to find products.

Use a Prefilter

Use the prefilter list to display products based on their status.

Prefilter Products displayed

None

Products of any status that meet the other search criteria.

Edit Products

Products in Edit status.

Approved Products

Products in Approved status.

Test Products

Products in Test status.

Reviewed Products

Products in Review status.

If no products match the selected criteria, the page displays No products found and shows a record count of zero (0).

Search for Products

Use one or both of the following searches:

  • Use quick search to search by product code or description.

  • Use advanced search to search by additional product attributes, such as brand, product line, status, validation status, product family, funding arrangement, or currency.

The page combines the prefilter and search criteria. For example, when you select Approved Products and search for a brand, the results include only approved products for that brand.

The Records count is updated whenever you change or clear a search criterion.

Select All Matching Products

Select Select All to include every product that matches the current prefilter and search criteria.

The count beside Select All shows the number of matching products. For example:

When you use Select All:

  • Individual product checkboxes aren’t available.

  • The operation includes all matching products, including products that aren’t visible on the current page of results.

Select Specific Products

Select Select Specific to choose individual products from the search results.

  1. Select the checkbox for each product that you want to include.

  2. Review the count beside Select Specific.

  3. To display only the products that you selected, turn on Show Selected.

  4. To return to the complete search result, turn off Show Selected.

You can select a maximum of 500 products in Select Specific mode.

Your selections are retained when you change the search criteria or use Show Selected.

Add Service Definitions

After you select the products, use the filters on the main page to choose the service definitions that you want to add.

The top section of the page contains the following tiles:

  • Selected Products

  • Service Options

  • Services

  • Service Definitions

The Selected Products tile shows the number of products that you selected. To change the product selection, select Add/Modify Product Selection.

Changing the service option, service, or service definition filters doesn’t change the selected products.

To add a service definition:

  1. Select a service option.

  2. Select a service.

  3. In the Service Definitions tile, select Add.

  4. Select the service definition that you want to add.

  5. Configure the service definition as described in Service Definitions.

Repeat these steps for each service definition that you want to add.

There is no Select All option for service definitions.

Manage Selected Service Definitions

Each service definition that you add appears as a row in the Service Definitions table.

Action Description

Edit

Change the parameters and properties of the service definition before you apply it.

Delete

Remove the service definition from the operation.

The changes aren’t applied to the products until you select Apply.

You can add a maximum of 10 service definitions to one operation.

Apply the Service Definitions

Before you apply the changes, verify the selected product count and the service definitions in the table.

  1. Select Apply.

  2. Wait for the operation to finish.

Apply is available after you add at least one service definition.

While the operation is running, the page is read-only and displays a processing indicator. Don’t close or refresh the page until processing is complete.

Cancel the Operation

To leave the page without applying the changes:

  1. Select Cancel.

  2. In the confirmation dialog, select one of the following options:

    • Select Yes to discard the product selection, filters, and configured service definitions and leave the page.

    • Select No to close the confirmation dialog and continue working.

Review the Results

After processing is complete, the page reports whether the service definitions were added successfully.

All Service Definitions Are Added

When all service definitions are added successfully:

  • A confirmation message shows the number of products that were updated.

  • The successfully processed service definitions are removed from the table.

One or More Service Definitions Fail

When a service definition can’t be added:

  • The message identifies the service definition and the number of affected products.

  • A separate message confirms the service definitions that were added successfully.

  • Successfully processed service definitions are removed from the table.

  • Failed service definitions remain in the table and display an error icon.

Review and correct the failed service definitions, and then select Apply to try again.
