Cancel a shipment

In any study, you can cancel a manual or automatically-generated shipment as long as its status is Pending, Invalid, Confirmed, In Transit, or Pending Destruction. You typically cancel a shipment to control costs and avoid the waste of the investigational product.

If the study uses an integration with Almac or Catalent Clinical Supply Services for shipments, you must cancel any shipment with a status of Invalid. If you don't cancel an invalid shipment, a new shipment won't be created the next time inventory runs.

Tip:

You can cancel multiple shipments if they have the same status and if you select the same new status for all the kits.

Want to see how to perform this task? Watch the video below.

  1. Navigate to the Shipments tab. For step-by-step instructions, see Access the Shipments tab
  2. Select a shipment with a status of Pending, Invalid, Confirmed, In Transit, or Pending Destruction.
  3. From the Edit Shipment drop-down, select Cancel Shipment.
  4. Select the new status of the kits in the shipment and click Confirm.

    Note:

For example, if you canceled your shipment because it had a temperature excursion, you should choose Pre-quarantined. However, if you canceled the shipment because the site did not need the inventory, you should choose Available.
