View and monitor queries

There are different ways to find and monitor queries. You can view all queries for a subject from the queries sidebar, or you can view the complete history of all queries associated with a specific question.

You can also view all queries for all subjects in a study from the Query List page. This is recommended for a more efficient query management. For more information, see Manage all queries in the Query List.

Note:

If a question with an open or answered query becomes unavailable through the User Interface (UI), either the question gets removed from design or hidden by user's action, you will not be able to view it or manage it directly from the form. You must review these queries and manage them directly from the Queries sidebar using the menu options, as described in steps 4 and 5.
  1. On the Home page, Access your study in a specific mode.
  2. Along the top, make sure Subjects is selected, and that you're on the Subject Overview view.
  3. Locate a subject on the subjects list. Look for subjects with open queries.

Visits with open queries display in red and are marked with an Open Queries icon Visit label for queries.

    Tip:

You can use filters to narrow down your subjects list. For step-by-step instructions, see Filter subjects in a study.
  4. To view all non-closed queries associated with the subject, from all forms and visits, access the queries sidebar.

    Note:

If you are looking for a query on a specific visit and form question, you may open the visit and skip to the last step.

The queries sidebar can be accessed from the Subject List or from within a visit:

    • To access form the Subjects List: select the subject and expand the Queries sidebar on the right.
    • To access from within a visit: locate the visit and click to open, then expand the Queries sidebar on the right.
  5. To view a query from within the Queries sidebar:
    1. Select any query to expand it details.
    2. Select Menu Menu icon to the right of the Current Value label.
    3. From the drop-down select View.
The system will take you into the form, directly to the question containing the query.
  6. To view the complete history of queries in a specific question:
    1. Click anywhere on the question with the query as to perform any action.
Questions with Open or Answered queries will be highlighted in red.
    2. On the right, expand Answer & Visit History, and review.

Recent activity appears first and numeric ordering tags are dynamically assigned to queries and display for each query-related action. The numeric order is dependent on which queries a user can view; the same query may display a different number to different users if they have different permissions.

Within a visit, you can always scroll through the forms; questions with Open or Answered queries will be highlighted in red.

Note:

There is a text length limit of 2048 characters. However, if the query message is longer than 1068 characters it will display partially and you will need to use the sidebar to view the full text.
