4.23.1 Introduction

The Procedure Order RMIM represents a verified order placed by a certified provider for a procedure to be performed on a particular patient. The message specification lets the placer specify details such as the patient subject, author, verifier, responsible organization, criteria governing fulfillment, and so on. This notification message includes all of the relevant information necessary to request that a specific procedure be performed at a predetermined time. The ability to instantiate occurrences of a repeating order is included if this capability is necessary. This is an order for a practitioner to perform a clinical procedure on a patient.
