4.31.1 Introduction

The Transfer Request RMIM represents an order placed by a certified practitioner for the transfer of a patient in an inpatient encounter from the current location to a destination location. The destination is typically another care site within the same facility. The message specification lets the placer specify information about the staff members who perform the transfer, transportation requirements, and preferred accommodation.
