4.10.1 Introduction

The Discharge Request RMIM represents an order placed by a certified practitioner for the discharge of a patient from an inpatient encounter. The specification lets the placer specify information about the staff members who will perform the discharge, transportation requirements, and a destination for the patient such as home, rehabilitation facility, skilled nursing facility or a home health agency for follow-up care.
