Each preview button is associated with a URL defined for items of a given type. To preview a product, for example, you click the Preview button that displays in the Details pane when a product is selected. ATG processes the URL to locate the appropriate data and page to display:
First, the Preview URL Parser component substitutes dynamic values in the URL for property placeholders, adds the project ID to the URL, parses the URL, and resolves the query parameters.
Next, a filter called
ProjectFilteraccesses the project identified in the URL, ensuring that your preview displays the property values provided in the project from which the preview is initiated.
