After editing your catalog, facets, and search configurations in Oracle ATG Web Commerce Merchandising, you deploy and index the catalog repository. This process involves the following steps:
The catalog repository and refinement repository are deployed to the configured offline data source.
The Catalog Maintenance Services are run against the offline data source.
A process is run on the offline data source that creates, in the refinement repository, the facet sets for each
catalog,category, andcategory-infoitem in the catalog repository, and updates each item to point to its associated facet set.The data sources are switched, so the offline source goes online.
Indexing is performed on the newly online source.
Post-indexing customizations generate the refinement configuration and search configuration XML files, based on the data in the refinement repository.
Steps 1 through 3 are repeated on the newly offline data source, to keep it in sync with the online data source and make it ready to receive the next deployment.
