Reset a Host

The Oracle ILOM reset command can perform a graceful or forced reset of the host (PDomain). By default, the reset command gracefully resets the host. You must reset each host separately, unless you reset the entire system, as described in Reset the System.

This task uses PDomain_0 as an example. You must have the console role (c) and the admin role (a) to complete this task.

  1. Log in to Oracle ILOM.

    See Log In to Oracle ILOM (CLI).

  2. Start the host console.

    See Start the Host Console.

  3. Type one of the following commands to reset the host.
    • Perform a graceful reset:
      -> reset /Servers/PDomains/PDomain_0/HOST
      Are you sure you want to reset /Servers/PDomains/PDomain_0/HOST (y/n) ? y

    • If a graceful reset is not possible, perform a forced reset:
      -> reset -f /Servers/PDomains/PDomain_0/HOST
