Chapter 8 Deprecated and Removed Oracle VM Features

The following Oracle VM features are deprecated and will be removed from a future release of this software:

  • Paravirtualized (PVM) guests: Support for Paravirtualized (PVM) guests is deprecated. It is recommended to convert your PVM guests to hardware virtualized, with paravirtualized drivers (PVHVM) or hardware virtualized (HVM) guest domain types. For instructions, see Disabling Paravirtualized Guests on Oracle VM Server in the Oracle VM Administrator's Guide.

  • Management of Oracle VM Server for x86 at Release 3.2.10 or 3.2.11, and Oracle VM Agent for SPARC at Release 3.3.1: Management of Oracle VM Server for x86 at Release 3.2.10 or 3.2.11, and Oracle VM Agent for SPARC at Release 3.3.1, is deprecated. If management of Oracle VM Servers at these release versions is still required, see Enabling the TLS Version 1 Protocol in the Oracle VM 3.4 Installation and Upgrade guide.

The following previously deprecated Oracle VM features will be removed from a future release of this software:

  • Oracle VM Utilities scripts: A number of the Oracle VM Utilities scripts are deprecated by the Oracle VM Manager Command Line Interface. For more information, see Using the Oracle VM Utilities in the Oracle VM Administrator's Guide
