Managing task assignments

You can manage individual tasks using the Notifications window if you are the notification recipient (task owner), or, in some cases, you can use the Monitor to manage any taks.

Reassigning a task to a different user

When you reassign a task to a different user, the Wizard notifies the newly task owner, by adding it to that user's Notifications window.

Reassigning a task to a particular user does not affect the assignment for subsequent tasks; each new notification will be sent to the default Role you specified when you launched the implementation process.

Reprioritizing tasks

A user's Notifications window can be set to sort tasks by priority, from highest to lowest. Therefore, you can use a task's priority level to indicate which tasks should be completed soonest or worked on with the greatest urgency.

Aborting a process

When you abort a process, the current task is withdrawn from the list of notifications associated with the current task owner. No further notifications will be delivered. If the notification owner tries to respond to a task after its process has been aborted, perhaps because the owner has not yet re-queried the Notifications window, the system gives a warning message and does not allow a notification response.
