With a Management Server connection, you have automatic access to your console preferred credentials, so you can connect to databases without manually entering your user name and password. If you have not set up preferred credentials for a database and select it in a Standard Management Pack tool, the tool tries to use your DEFAULT credentials. If this fails, you are prompted to login manually.
