Versions 8.04 and higher of the Oracle database server install a data gathering service along with the Intelligent Agent. Performance Manager relies on this service to collect data. Note that the data gathering service must be started up separately from the agent. If this service is not installed on a target machine, you can specify a data gathering service on a different machine when you log into Performance Manager. When you do so, you cannot collect operating system data from the target machine. |
