Mapping a Generic Catering Product to a Property-Specific Product

After a generic product is created, the administrator must map the property-specific product to the generic product. This facilitates the conversion of generic products during the Create Quote process.

This task is a step in Process of Setting Up Products and Assets.

To map a generic catering product to a property-specific product

1. From the application-level menu, choose Navigate > Site Map > Product Administration.
2. In the Products list, query for the generic catering product.
3. In the product record, click the link in the Name field.
4. Click the Specific Products view tab.
5. In the Specific Products list, create a new record and select the appropriate property-specific product.
6. Save the record.

   NOTE:  The administrator can map a generic product to a property-specific product or a common product. For a given property, a generic product can be mapped to only one property-specific product. However, the same generic product can be mapped to another property-specific product for a different property. One generic product can only be mapped to one common product.
