Siebel Incentive Compensation Administration Guide > Plan Design > Creating a Compensation Group and Adding MembersSiebel Incentive Compensation allows you to create a compensation group, add members to the group, and then associate the group with one or more rules. Some rules reward group compensation (the efforts of more than one person, for example, sales representatives in a region or territory). You can also add groups to hurdles, plan hurdles, and plan rules. The calculation engine uses the effective dates for positions as well as options set in the Earned field on the rule to determine how to distribute payouts. For example, assume you have two groups, as shown in Table 17. Smythe is a member of Group A at the beginning of the year. If Smythe closes a deal in March, 2001, Group A is paid. However, in the middle of the year, Smythe changes to Group B. When he closes a deal in August, Group B is paid. For more information, see the scenarios for working with group compensation presented in Business Scenarios for Compensation Plan Design. To create a compensation group
