WebLogic Server 10.0, Workshop for WebLogic 10.x, WebLogic Integration 10.2, and WebLogic Portal 10.2 incorporate standard and open source technologies that were not used in version 8.1. So while upgrading from version 8.1 to 10.x, you should be aware of potential changes to application code during the upgrade. Some of these changes are due to API changes, while others come from standards and open source technologies included in the later releases.
