Configuring Groups (Step 2)

You can add a server group to your configuration or modify the properties of an existing group.

Adding a Group

To add a server group:

  1. On the main window, select the group you want to add from the list in the right panel as shown in Figure 3-11.

  2. Click Add on the Configuration Tool bar.

    Repeat steps 1 and 2 until all server groups are added to your configuration.

    Once all groups are added, you may change the properties of each group. See Modifying a Group.

Modifying a Group

You can modify the following properties of a server group in the configuration tree:

General Group Properties

To modify general group properties:

  1. Select the General tab on the Group Properties window as shown in Figure 3-12.

    The following table explains the fields available on the General Group Properties window.

    Field Description

    Group Name

    Assigns a name to the group.

  2. When you have filled in the fields, click OK to save your changes and close the window.

Transactions Group Properties

To modify Transactions Group Properties:

  1. Select the Transactions tab on the Group Properties window as shown in Figure 3-13.

    The following table explains the fields available on the Transaction Group Properties window.

    Field Description

    TMS Name

    The name of the Transaction Manager Server for this group. The corresponding BEA TUXEDO group parameter is TMSNAME.

    Number of TMS Processes

    The number of TMS processes that are started in the group. The corresponding BEA TUXEDO group parameter is TMSCOUNT.

    OPENINFO String

    Specifies the resource manager instance-dependent information needed when opening the resource manager. The corresponding BEA TUXEDO group parameter is OPENINFO.

    CLOSEINFO String

    Specifies the resource manager instance-dependent information needed when closing the resource manager. The corresponding BEA TUXEDO group parameter is CLOSEINFO. This parameter is hardly ever used.

  2. When you have filled in the fields, click OK to save your changes and close the window.
