Adding or Deleting Objects in the Tree

Once you have completed setting up all of the components in your application, the Configuration Expert allows you to easily add or delete components in the configuration tree.

Add a Component to the Tree

To add a component to the tree:

  1. On the main window, select the component you want to add from the right panel.

    In the following example, a non transactional server group in the right panel has been selected to be added to the tree list in the left panel.

  2. Click Add on the Configuration Tool bar.

    The new server group is added to the tree list in the left panel. You can configure each component that you add. See Modifying a Group.

    Note: Remember that just because you select a component in the right panel, the component is not active in your application until you Add it, and the component appears in the left panel.

Delete a Component from the Tree

To delete a component from the tree:

  1. On the main window, select the component you want to delete from the left panel, as shown in Figure 3-26.

    In the following example, the ACCOUNT server in the right panel has been selected to be deleted from the tree list in the left panel.

  2. Click Delete on the Configuration tool bar.

    The ACCOUNT server is deleted from the tree list in the left panel.
