What's New in Siebel Consumer Goods Guide, Version 8.1/8.2

No new features have been added to this guide for this release. This guide has been updated to reflect only product name changes.

What's New in Siebel Consumer Goods Guide, Version 8.1, Rev. B and Version 8.2

Table 1 lists changes described in this version of the documentation to support release 8.1 and release 8.2 of the software.

New topic. Users can customize, personalize, and add reports to the Home screen.

Associating Multiple Accounts with Products

New topic. Users can associate a product with multiple accounts by using the product as the parent and the account as the child.

Viewing and Modifying Distribution List Categories (End User)

New topic. Category Distribution view enhancements for retail list prices and cost prices have been added.

Creating Buying Groups (End User)

New topic, "Associating Sources of Supply with Accounts" describes how to capture wholesaler to retailer relationships by Product Category and extend the source of supplier relationships to specify the percent at the category level.

Creating Default Values for Plans for Account Promotions

New topic. Account managers can overwrite an account plan for specific promotions. Default dates and durations are created automatically.

Associating Baseline and Shipment Data with Promoted Products

Modified topic. Consumption-based volume planning has been added.

Allocating Field Values in Account Promotions

Modified topic. The spread functionality allows spreading from multiple levels of a promotion hierarchy in the same implementation.

Simulating the Results for Account Promotions

Modified topic. The predict lift % function is available at the promotion, promoted category, and promoted product levels.

Fields for Volume and Revenue in Promotions

  • An enhancement for consumption volume planning includes new fields for sell-out (consumption) volumes.
  • An enhancement for lift percent on promotions includes two new override fields that are populated based on the sell-in or sell-out value in the Promotion Type field.

Configuring the Spread Button

Modified topic. A spread can be performed from every level.

Creating Accrual Funds

Modified topic. Accrual rates can be assigned at the fund source category level and allocated to the fund source product level.

New topic. Administrators can enter fund rates and the fund group rate at the category level and cascade the rates to child products.
