3.11 How to Remove the CPU Card Cage Assembly

3.11.1 Before You Begin

Complete these tasks:

• "2.4 How to Position the System for Service"

• "2.6 How to Remove the System Cover"

• "2.8 How to Avoid Electrostatic Discharge"

• "3.5 How to Remove a CPU Module"

• "3.9 How to Remove the Air Guide"

Remove all CPU modules prior to removing the card cage.

3.11.2 What to Do

1. Loosen the two captive screws securing the CPU card cage assembly to the main logic board.

   Use a Phillips #2 screwdriver to loosen the screws.

2. Lift the CPU card cage assembly from the main logic board.
