The term multisite refers to running multiple Web sites from a single Oracle Commerce Platform instance, with the sites sharing certain resources, such as a shopping cart. In a multisite environment, user profiles are automatically shared, so a customer registered on one site is also registered on the other. The profile repository model is identical in a multisite-enabled installation to the model used by an environment that supports only one Web site.
