Use the Members tab to assign users to this organization and to view existing members. (Note that you can also assign users through the Orgs and Roles tab in the Users interface.)

The Members tab shows all members of this organization, which can be any of the following.

To assign a member to this organization, click Select and double click on the user you want. Then click Save. (You can also create a user through this tab; to do so, click Add New and define the new user profile. The profile is added to the system just as if you created it through the Users interface.) Clicking the Remove Item icon removes the user from this organization.

Notes: The name of any user you assign here is a link. Clicking it allows you to edit the properties of the given user. Editing a user here is the same as editing it through the Users interface.

Profile Organization Membership

When you have assigned members to organizations, a user’s profile displays the list of organizations to which the user belongs. This includes the following for internal users:

The following organization information is displayed for external users. External users that are members of organizations are business-to-business users. Standard customers, or business-to-consumer users, are also external users but do not have organization memberships. For information on working with business-to-business users, refer to the Core Commerce Programming Guide:

  • Default Organization – An organization that can display context, such as specific price lists and catalogs, when the user logs in. Note that default organizations and primary organizations are functionally the same

  • Secondary Organizations – A list of all the organizations of which the user is a member, and may or may not include the default organization

  • Inherited Organizations – Organization memberships that the user inherited from another of the organizations to which they belong
