Business managers can use Core Commerce promotions to highlight products and offer discounts as a way of encouraging customers to make purchases. Promotions typically fall into the following categories:
Specific amount off a particular product
Specific amount off a whole order
Percentage amount off a particular product
Percentage amount off a whole order
Specific amount or percentage off a product, based on an attribute
Free product or free order
Substitution (buy product A for the price of product B)
Free shipping for a specific product
You can create promotions through a simple interface in the ACC as described in this guide, or through Oracle Commerce Merchandising (see the Merchandising Administration Guide).
