RF Mass Transfer

Purpose: RF Mass Transfer allows you to perform the RF Item Transfer Pull Transaction and the RF Item Transfer Put Transaction in one step.

• The RF Item Transfer Pull transaction transfers the item quantity from its current warehouse and location to the intransit location in the same warehouse.

• The RF Item Transfer Put transaction, transfers the item quantity from the intransit location to a specified warehouse and location.

With this option, you must scan the location where the item will be pulled, scan the location where the item will be placed, and scan the UPC barcode, short SKU barcode, or manually enter the item to move. If the Default Quantity in RF Mass Transfer (L31) system control value is set to *ONE, once you complete these scans, the mass transfer takes place immediately for a quantity of 1, and the from and to locations remain on the screen so that you can continue to scan items for mass transfer. If this system control value is blank or *NONE, you must first define a transfer quantity and select OK to process the mass transfer.

The system creates four transfer records in the Item Transaction History table for the RF Mass Transfer transaction:

• One record indicates the quantity transferred from the specified From warehouse and location.

• One record indicates the quantity transferred to the intransit location in the From warehouse.

• One record indicates the quantity transferred from the intransit location in the From warehouse.

• One record indicates the quantity transferred to the specified To warehouse and location.

The system assigns an RF Mass Transfer Control # to each RF mass transfer transaction. The system assigns the same RF mass transfer control number to each transaction until you change the From warehouse/location, To warehouse/location, or Reason code.

For each record created in the Item Transaction History table for the RF Mass Transfer transaction, the system:

• Updates the Item transaction history batch number field with the next available number from the Item Transaction Batch number assignment value.

• Updates the ID# (Item transaction history ID) field with MASSTRANS, indicating the transfer transaction was processed using the RF Mass Transfer Screen.

• Updates the ITH Control Number with the RF mass transfer control number assigned to the transaction.

• Updates the User ID with the user that processed the RF Mass Transfer transaction.

RF Mass Transfer Screen

How to display this screen: Select option 3. Mass Transfer and select OK or press Enter at the RF ITM TRN MENU Screen; see RF Screen Layout.

Secured Feature: The Allow Access to RF Item Transfer (A52) secured feature controls access to this option.

Cursor placement: When you first advance to this screen, the system places the cursor in the From Warehouse field.

Audible beep: If you have configured the RF gun to emit an audible beep for certain RF actions, the gun emits a high-pitched single beep when you first advance to the RF Mass Transfer screen, indicating the screen is ready to continue. See Configuring the RF Gun to Beep for RF Actions.

RF Mass Transfer Process

Use the following steps to process an RF Mass Transfer transaction.

1.

Enter the warehouse where the stock is currently located in the Warehouse field.

2.

Scan the location barcode on the RF Bin Location Label where the stock is currently located or manually complete the FLoc field. To scan the location barcode on the Bin Location label correctly, the cursor on the screen must be in the FLoc field.

3.

Enter the warehouse where you wish to put away the stock in the Warehouse field.

4.

Scan the Location barcode on the RF Bin Location Label where you wish to put away the stock or manually complete the TLoc field. To scan the Location barcode on the Bin Location label correctly, the cursor on the screen must be in the TLoc field.

Note: The system does not validate that an item/location record already exists for the destination location when you perform an item transfer. If the item location does not exist, the system creates it.

5.

Enter the item to transfer.

The setting of the Default Scan Type for RF Receiving and PI (K68) system control value controls whether you can scan the short SKU barcode or UPC barcode to default the item and SKU.

• If set to blank or SHORTSKU, the system displays the SS field where you can scan the short SKU barcode on the RF Item Label or manually complete the SS field to default the associated item and SKU in the Itm and SKU fields.

• If set to UPC08, UPC12, UPC13, or UPC14, the system displays the UPC field where you can scan the UPC barcode or manually complete the UPC field to default the associated item and SKU in the Itm and SKU fields. The setting also indicates the length of the UPC barcode that can be scanned. Note: Include any leading zeros. For example, if the UPC code is 06012011, enter 06012011 and not 6012011.

• Optionally, you can manually enter the item and SKU in the Itm and SKU fields.

Once you enter the item to transfer, the system validates your entry.

6.

The setting of the Default Quantity in RF Mass Transfer (L31) system control value determines the quantity that defaults to the Qty field. In addition, this setting controls whether you use Standard RF Mass Transfer or Quick-Entry RF Mass Transfer.

• If set to *ONE, the system defaults a transfer quantity of 1 to the Qty field and performs Quick-Entry RF Mass Transfer.

• If set to *NONE or blank, the system does not default a quantity to the Qty filed and performs Standard RF Mass Transfer.

Quick-Entry RF Mass Transfer

The system performs Quick-Entry RF Mass Transfer if the Default Quantity in RF Mass Transfer (L31) system control value is set to *ONE.

Once you define a valid From warehouse and location, To warehouse and location, and item/SKU, the system automatically performs the RF Mass Transfer for a quantity of 1 without waiting for you to select OK or press Enter to proceed with the mass transfer.

The system displays the message Transfer Processed and if configured, emits a high-pitched single beep when the transfer is complete, indicating the screen is ready to continue. See Configuring the RF Gun to Beep for RF Actions.

Standard RF Mass Transfer

The system performs Standard RF Mass Transfer if the Default Quantity in RF Mass Transfer (L31) system control value is set to *NONE or blank.

• Enter the quantity to transfer in the Qty field.

• Select OK or press Enter to validate your entries. If configured, the system emits a medium-pitched double beep to notify the user that confirmation is required; see Configuring the RF Gun to Beep for RF Actions.

• Select OK or press Enter again to process the RF Mass Transfer transaction.

• The system displays the message Transfer Processed and if configured, emits a high-pitched single beep when the transfer is complete. See Configuring the RF Gun to Beep for RF Actions.

8.

The RF Mass Transfer:

• Transfers the stock from the specified From warehouse and location to the intransit location in the from warehouse.

• Transfers the item quantity from the intransit location to the specified To warehouse and location.

The system creates four transfer records in the Item Transaction History table:

• One record indicates the quantity pulled from the specified From warehouse and location.

• One record indicates the quantity put in the intransit location in the From warehouse.

• Once record indicates the quantity pulled from the intransit location in the From warehouse.

• One record indicates the quantity put in the specified To warehouse and location.

The system assigns an RF Mass Transfer Control # to each RF mass transfer transaction. The system assigns the same RF mass transfer control number to each transaction until you change the From warehouse/location, To warehouse/location, or Reason code.

For each record created in the Item Transaction History table, the system:

• Updates the Item transaction history batch number field with the next available number from the Item Transaction Batch number assignment value.

• Updates the ID# (Item transaction history ID) field with MASSTRANS, indicating the transfer transaction was processed using the RF Mass Transfer Screen.

• Updates the ITH Control Number with the RF mass transfer control number assigned to the transaction.

• Updates the User ID with the user that processed the RF Mass Transfer transaction.

The system retains the From warehouse and location, To warehouse and location, and the quantity, and defaults the cursor in the SS or UPC field, allowing you to immediately scan another item for transfer.

RF Item Mass Transfer errors: See RF Item Mass Transfer Errors for a list of errors that you can receive on the Mass Transfer screen. If configured, the RF gun emits a low pitched triple beep when an error occurs on the RF Mass Transfer screen that requires user intervention; see Configuring the RF Gun to Beep for RF Actions.
